JOE ROYLE SIGNED EVERTON SHIRT

In four seasons between 1967 and 1971 Joe Royle rifled in a remarkable 95 goals from 190 appearances. His power and goals made him a crucial member of the 1970 Championship winning side and he also enjoyed a Charity Shield victory and was part of a side that lost out in the FA Cup final of 1968.

As manager, he guided the club to sixth in 1996 a year after the FA Cup victory over Manchester United at Wembley. But a succession of injuries and the resulting dip in results led to his departure in 1997.
